NJ Stonewall Democrats is pleased to support Senator Loretta Weinberg, Assemblyman Gordon Johnson and Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle. We are honored to be part of this impressive and diversified group of local and statewide progressive organizations that have come out to Paramus to rally in support of their re-election.
Senator Weinberg is author of the domestic partnership law enacted in 2004; and most recently was a primary sponsor of the law that bars discrimination against the transgender community, and the law that establishes civil unions, protecting the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex couples. Gordon Johnson and Valerie Vainieri Huttle, by sponsoring and supporting these two new laws to fight discrimination and protect the civil rights of minorities, exercised their leadership in the Assembly.
Loretta, Gordon and Valerie, have demonstrated their willingness and effectiveness as a team to fight for and protect the civil rights of women, people of color, LGBTI New Jerseyans, seniors, children, people with disabilities and other vulnerable minorities who face discrimination.
As a legislative team they have shown leadership, vision and effectiveness in statewide issues while keeping a common-sense balance of business, labor and societal interests for all the communities and constituencies in the 37th District.
Today, as the media and every day people talk about ethics and what is wrong with Trenton, Loretta, Gordon and Valerie demonstrate what is right with public service and set an example of integrity, inclusivity and compassion.
